Landrake Run

Congratulations to all who took part in this arduous event!! We were very lucky to have sunshine during the run and were successful in getting very muddy!!  Particular mention to Jack Donne who came 3rd overall (out of 600ish) and Connor Ledwith (4th) and to Madison Douglas who was the 4th girl to finish and 34th overall.

All runners did a fantastic job and definitely deserve their sponsorship!!  Thank you to all the staff and parents who helped with the training sessions and the event itself!

Year 5 Swimming Gala

We all let our competitive streak loose this morning with the second of our swimming galas.  My group and Miss Pope’s group joined forces to race against each other, as did Mrs Pasmore’s and Miss Buckingham’s.  Lovely encouragement from all children to support their team mates.  Jake, Antony, Jasmine, Leah and Warren won for groups 1 and 2, with a special mention to Luke for swimming beautifully all lesson.  In groups 3 and 4, Darja, Chloe, Charlie and Bethan won in the first half and Evie, Aaron, Abi, Ottilie and Jacob were successful in the second.

Excellent effort from all.  Well done Year 5.

Year 6 Swimathon

After Year 5 swum to Liskeard on Monday, Ewan Baker made me laugh this morning by saying that his target was Trago Mills!!  Great aspiration Ewan!!  There was another gargantuan effort by the children this morning, with Ashley and Connor smashing the 100 width mark.  Well done.  In total, Year 6 swum 3188 widths, which equals 39850 metres.  That’s 24.9 miles, almost from Torpoint to Bodmin, which is way further than Trago!!  So congratulations to everyone who put in such a fabulous effort.

Year 5 Swimathon

On Monday the whole of year 5 took part in the Swimathon for Sports Relief, where all children swam non stop for the duration of their swimming session.  The staff tallied the widths and the results were so impressive.  In total, Year 5 swam 1924 widths which is the same as 24050 metres.  This equates to just over 15 miles.  That means that for Sports Relief, Year 5 have swum from Torpoint to Liskeard!!  Well done everyone who took part.  Let’s see how well Year 6 do on Thursday!
